At last: frame welding night. Our welding jig/table is David's 1/2" thick steel bench. Located in the middle of the shop for three-sided access it is 4' wide and 8' long. Using an 8' long piece of aluminum, a square and a tape for locating, pieces of steel were tack-welded to the table top.Welding the frame went faster than expected. In four hours the tree of us had one frame ready to sit in and the other two bottom sections welded up. Care needs to taken not to weld all on one side of the frame or it will warp. Tack things up before finish welding.
