THE EIGHTEENTH ANNUAL
DOWNEAST COUNTRY DANCE FESTIVAL

Thanks to our daytime performers, all of whom performed for free in 2005 and again in 2006 in order to help the Festival continue our path back toward solid financial footing.

Many 2007 daytime performers have also opted to donate their share of the proceeds back into strengthening the Festival (even those who accept their share in payment generally barely make gas money). Thanks to all for your support of the dance community in Maine!

The "DEFFA" Festival?
Actually not (at least not yet).

We've noticed that many people refer to the DownEast Country Dance Festival as the "DEFFA Festival". While we do collaborate with the folks at DEFFA, and advertise in their newsletter, so far the two organizations are completely separate. And we've discovered that the practice of calling the DownEast festival the "DEFFA Festival" sometimes causes problems when folks try to find our website using a search engine.

So we appreciate your assistance in spreading around our actual name instead. If you need a shorter name, "DownEast Fest" at least gets the right link on page one when you Google, so that would help. Thanks!
